History:

The official name of The K Club is the Kildare Hotel Spa and Country Club however to many it is simply known as the former. Found to the West of Dublin in County Kildare the resort is home to two championship golf courses The Palmer Ryder Cup Course and The Smurfit Course. Both have their own attributes and strengths and the resort as a whole offers a fantastic location for golfers to spend a few days away enjoying the sport that they love. Of the two courses The Smurfit is the younger and was opened for play in 2003 and has already seen its fair share of championships and tournaments that more established clubs and courses can only dream of. Like its older contemporary the Smurfit was designed by Arnold Palmer and his team and is a unique
modern and revolutionary course which has received a great amount of critical acclaim and accolades in its relatively short life.

Measuring just under 6700 metres with a par of 72 this course is a huge challenge for all and the features here only add to that fact. Although questioned by many the best way to describe this course is like that of an Inland Links if such a course type were to exist. The dramatic surroundings combined with features such as vast sloping greens clever and tricky bunkering and extraordinary water hazards make for a thrilling and refreshing course.
